For this next chapter in the history of Pleasant Valley Ranch, we’d like to formally introduce you to Jay. Errek and Jay have been raising hell together for over 15 years. Some of my favorite Errek and Jay stories involve them using dynamite to “dig” post holes. Sadly, we will not be dynamiting the carport, but it will still be a lot of fun and a little dangerous. Hi Jay, welcome to the story!
Aha, our adversary — your hours are numbered, carport. Prepare to die.
But first…the shed.
And now for the fun part.
Okay, that was way too easy.
Carport, your time has come.
Oh crap, save the tree!
Oh crap, save Jay!
Oh crap, it’s twisting!
Hmm, perfect. Missed the tree, missed the house, missed Jay. That was the most controlled uncontrolled carport demolition I’ve ever witnessed.
Wow, sun light in the back yard. This is scary. Will we melt?
Okay, now for the Before & After.
Okay, okay, so it’s not really “after.” We still have to rent a jackhammer and clear out all that concrete, but jeez let us revel for a minute okay? And for more effective reveling, we taped out the future walls of the new rooms and set up a couple of chairs in the “breakfast room.”
Yep, we’re getting close. Now we’re just waiting for a foundation guy to tell us “no, you’re not crazy to want steel beams and deep piers and we can make that happen for you at an affordable price.” Too much to ask? Stay tuned.
